In Iraq, 2007.

My first job took me to Lexington, Ky. Herald-Leader, where I wrote about arts and culture, created an EPpy-nominated entertainment blog traveled to Iraq and post-Katrina New Orleans to report for McClatchy newspapers.

At The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, I worked as a features writer, general assignment reporter and blogger until I moved to the digital department to launch the Inside Access blog as part of our new Insight/Opinion Team in the Digital Department.

I left the AJC in May 2010 for the incredible opportunity to join the Special Reports team at CNN.com.

I’m currently working toward an MFA in creative nonfiction at Goucher College, preparing a manuscript about how we get around affects the way we live together.

Until recently, “reporter” had always been my job title. What it really meant is that I’m a researcher, writer, listener, photographer, copy editor, curator, voice artist, public face, videographer, multimedia editor, social media addict and a good sport.

You can reach me via e-mail, on Twitter or through LinkedIn.
